The BPE was formed in the late 80's to encourage photography there are currently 19 exhibitions around the country. Several of our members have already joined the circuit and have enjoyed successes.
Colin Mill will be telling us about the BPE circuit and be showing us a few of his successful images that have got him to BPE2 and we'll also be viewing a few of the sections from one of the local exhibitions, the Rushden Open.
Anyone can enter - you just need to carefully read the rules, pay the appropriate fees and send your images.
The images are then assessed by a panel of 3 selectors with each selector awarding each image a mark from 1 to 5. Each exhibition sets its acceptance mark in each of the sections and if your image was awarded enough marks it is accepted and appears in that exhibition - there are usually catalogues and CDs available for a small fee and of course you can always visit the exhibition itself. Each acceptance is worth 1 point in the BPE Crown Awards scheme.
BPE1 Crown Award = 25 points
BPE2 Crown Award = 50 points
BPE3 Crown Award = 100 points
BPE4 Crown Award = 200 points
BPE5 Crown Award = 300 points
Annual Exhibition
Friday 9th and Saturday 10th June (10am to 4pm)
Please come along to visit our free annual exhibition at The Methodist Church, Newport Pagnell, you can see all of the images produced for internal competitions projected to Jean-Michel Jarre's "Equinoxe" album, as well as over 80 mounted prints that you can choose a favourite from. There's also a section dedicated to our recent win at the Photography News "Camera Club of the Year" competition
There will be people on hand to show you around and discuss our favourite hobby!

2015 New City Exhibition results
The exhibition went really well and from an analysis of the preference slips which we handed out to almost all who attended, the following results were worked out:-
With 154 points, the most popular print was "The Kite That Thinks It's An Osprey" by Neil Schofield. Second with 52 points was "View From The Old Man" by David Cromack. Third with 48 points was "Beached" by Jean-Paul Srivalsan. Fourth with 40 points was "Kirkufell" by David Cromack and fifth equal with were "Tanzanian Leopard" by Emily Cosby and "Rannamere Dawn" by David Cromack.
Congratulations to the above but also to everyone who submitted prints. All the prints were highly regarded by visitors and the visitors' book is full of very complementary comments.
David Phillips deserves a special mention since one of his prints "Morning Over Olney" was sold.
