We take part in a number of external competitions over the course of the competition year. These are usually selected from entries into the Internal Competitions by the External Print secretaries. NCPS regularly do well in the external competitions we take part in.
Below are summaries from external competitions we have taken part in.

St. Albans 8-Way print competition
In February we entered the above competition [In 2013 we had a print as joint first so a tough target to beat. We entered the following prints:- "Catch of the day" by Neil Schofield, "I Suppose you want t'weigh me figs" by Jamie White, "Hoi an Vietnam" by Simon Raynor, "Lorelei" by Ian Mellor, "Alhambra Sunset" by Clive Williams, "Something to Say" by Iain Morrison, "Patrouille de France" by Stephen Miller and "The Awakening" by Don Byatt. We came 3rd out of the 8 clubs competing [after Wycombe and St Albans with 141 points against Wycombe’s 150 and St Albans 142 - a close run and creditable result!
The Jubilee Print Competition
This was hosted by Leighton Buzzard Camera Club. There was a good turnout with several clubs attending, and enough cake for everyone. The standard of images was high and judge Chris Sargeant (Chesham) gave a commentary on each before scoring out of 20. At the end, two images had scored 20, and a further four scored 19. It was from these that Chris selected his 1st, 2nd and 3rd place images. Not an easy task, as the potential finalists covered a range of genres. We had prints judged 2nd and 3rd - a good result for the club. Chris Sergeant judged 1st: "A Touch of Red" by John Credland (Buckingham Camera Club), 2nd "Hummingbird in Flight" by Don Byatt (New City Photographic Society), and 3rd "Catwalk Callie" by Neil Schofield (New City Photographic Society). Congrats to Don and Neil
