Breaking news!

After a discussion at the last club committee meeting, Stephen has managed to secure a pretty special booking for our upcoming programme! The "Meerkat and Reptile experience" (www.animalexperience.org) will be visiting us on 26th March for our practical session!

The will be bringing along an Asian water dragon, a jungle nymph, a tarantula, milk-snake, python, a tree frog and a boa constrictor!

All animals can be placed on a surface to be photographed. Animals are used to flash photography as well apparently, so that won't be a problem.

A handler will also be coming along to help out

Happy New Year!

Firstly, happy new year to you all

This week's meeting will be a practical night. We're going to focus primarily on Food and Drink photography, so I'll be expecting lots of entries in the next competition on the 22nd Jan!

We will also have Daler Rowney mount board (pre cut) for sale at £1 each. The mount cutter should also be available for anyone wanting to get prints ready.

Please bring along any or all of the following

  • Interesting foods & drink (e.g. Popcorn, fruit, Cheese, Shellfish, eggs, left over foie gras)
  • Cameras (yes, people often forget!)
  • Lenses (including macros)
  • Lights (Fixed anglepoise lamps, speedlites, softboxes)
  • Tripods
  • Remote releases
  • Backgrounds
  • Props (e.g. knives, forks, napkins, bowls)
  • Yourselves!
  • Anything else you can think of

The great thing about this meeting is the second half can (if you like) be simply taken up with eating, drinking and catching up with your camera buddies! Yay!

Internal Competition update

After a really enjoyable evening with Micki Aston presiding, our internal league leaderboard has changed around a bit!

Tanya's still at the top of the Mono competition board with Simon and Neil heading up the Colour

The Open Projections board is again all Tanya's and Jamie and Simon are slugging it out for the top position on the Open Prints board

Stephen and Sue are topping the Projections Set board, with Neil taking the top spot on the Prints set board

It's all very exciting!
