This week at NCPS

We're going to start the session off this week with Colin completing his critique of images submitted at the last members evening, but then....

We have the Phil Atkinson Versatility Challenge This is a competition devised and run in memory of Phil Atkinson, a past member of New City Photographic Society. The aim of this competition is to encourage members to take a broad range of images in a wide range of styles

There are five rounds:-

  1. Monotone City/Town scape
  2. Transport
  3. Environmental Portrait
  4. Animal, Bird or Insect
  5. Motion

There are 9 entrants, giving Stephen and Colin plenty to talk about as they'll be judging them (as they were joint winners in last years competition). The scores are aggregated, whoever has the highest score wins the trophy for a year and gets the honour of choosing next year's subjects as well as judging them in the next competition

What's on this week!

Hello everyone, in the calendar this week we have a practical session planned. We thought we'd do something a little different and get out and about.

We're going on a night time walk through Woburn village. Meet at 19:30 in the car park located on the map. We can then go off and explore what Woburn looks like at night!

It'll no doubt be chilly, so wrap up warm! No doubt we can all agree on a cosy pub to warm up afterwards.

ALTERNATIVELY, Round 3 or the Rosebowl is also this Thursday Wycombe Photographic Society. They meet at 7.45 for an 8pm start at Micklefield Community Centre, Centre Approach, Micklefield Road, High Wycombe, HP13 7FY.

There is a map at: http://www.wycombephotographicsociety.org.uk/findus.html

Simon Raynor is planning on attending, so if you want to go it would be worth sending him an email

Thanks!
