The Club recently had a very inspiring talk from Andrew Carter, where he demonstrated photographing ‘Spirograph’ type images using some special kit.
This Session will take elements from his talk to produce some interesting light painted images. While we do not have the ‘machine’ that Andrew made to move the camera, there are many ways that we can move either the camera or the light source to get interesting effects.
What you need to bring along:
Camera with wide angle lens.
Remote shutter release.
A beanbag if you have one. As cameras may be on the floor looking upwards this may be helpful to level and protect the camera.
Tripods with an arm that extends to the side may also be helpful.
Other items that you could bring along if you have them:
Lights, torches or LED lights with a fine point of light
Coloured cells or gels
Subject matter to include (could be an action figure, ornament, flower etc.)
Mirrors
Any other items that you think may be helpful.
Light Painting is a lot of fun and can be very creative. I’m sure many of you will have lots of ideas to make this an enjoyable evening where we can share ideas and pick up tips from each other.
All welcome (members and non-members alike)
